As a photographer, I’m always on the lookout for the opportunity for a great shot, but sometimes the best moments happen when you least expect them. Case in point: a spontaneous fashion shoot with my son, Dylan, right here in our home in Holly Springs, NC. While I was at a morning photo session at the art museum, Dylan and his mom made a stop at Target. As luck would have it, Dylan found a stylish outfit on sale that was too good to pass up. He’s always had a flair for fashion, so it was no surprise when he was excited to try on his creation. By the time I got home, Dylan was already dressed in his new clothes, ready to pose for the camera. I had a short break between my morning and evening photo sessions, so we quickly set up a little editorial fashion shoot. Using natural window light, I captured a few striking portraits of Dylan—his confident poses and love for dressing up are evident. These images are some of my favorites, and I’m so excited to share them here on the blog. It’s amazing how a simple, impromptu moment can turn into something so special. Fashion, portraiture, and the pure joy of creating something together—it’s moments like these that make being a photographer, and a dad, so rewarding.
