Although Jeffery has lived and worked around the world, he grew up amid the pine trees and tobacco fields of eastern North Carolina. He discovered a love for photography at an early age while serving in the U.S. Navy. While in the Navy, he photographed everything from ceremonial events to aerial reconnaissance missions. After he left the Navy, Jeffery worked as a freelance photojournalist for several publications in central and eastern North Carolina, including the Chapel Hill News. Later, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in photojournalism from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He met his wife, Christina, while working as a photographer and night picture editor for The State newspaper in Columbia, South Carolina. After falling in love and getting married on Folly Beach in Charleston, South Carolina, they relocated to North Carolina to start a family and pursue personal projects. Jeffery works as a freelance photographer seeking work in food and music and other editorial work. He has more than 20 years of experience as a documentary photographer, and he has been published in numerous newspapers and magazines. Besides great photography, Jeffery also finds joy in art, travel, writing and cooking and eating great food. Above all, he adores every aspect of life with their four sweet children: Jackson, Lauren, Colin and Dylan.
